Typography

Typography is the art and technique of arranging type to make written language legible, readable, and appealing when displayed. For Concerto we have chosen a font that is simple and easy to read, yet has enough variation in font weight to create contrast.

Roboto

Roboto has a dual nature. It has a mechanical skeleton and the forms are largely geometric. At the same time, the font features friendly and open curves. Roboto doesn’t compromise, allowing letters to be settled into their natural width. This makes for a more natural reading rhythm more commonly found in humanist and serif types.

Roboto Font Weights

Roboto has five weights: Thin, Light, Normal, Medium, Bold. The slight variations in weight play a key role in dynamic copy and imagery for all subject matter.
